Michelle Ovens CBE

Michelle Ovens CBE

Founder, Small Business Britain

Michelle is a small business campaigner and the founder of Small Business Britain, the leading champion of the UK's 5.5 million small businesses. She is also the founder of multiple campaigns aimed at promoting diversity and inclusion in entrepreneurship and played a key role in spearheading The Lilac Review, a major new independent review seeking to address and overcome the inequality faced by disabled-led businesses, backed by the UK Government. Michelle is also director of Small Business Saturday UK, a grassroots not-for-profit campaign to support, inspire and promote small businesses across the UK.

Amber works within the marketing & events team, helping to deliver Small Business Britain's extensive digital programme of webinars, Facebook lives and Power Hours to connect small businesses with expert trainers.

Karen Campbell

Karen Campbell

 

Karen is an award-winning marketer and runs her own marketing consultancy, Karen Campbell Marketing, working with female business owners on bringing their brand to life through inspirational marketing and events. She is also the founder of women’s London networking club, Hotsy Totsy.

Karen also manages the f:Entrepreneur campaign for Small Business Britain which champions, celebrates and supports female business owners.

Award winning virtual PA Michelle Collins and her team at Pink Spaghetti Chester and North Wales have been providing support across the Small Business Britain campaigns since 2018 and are passionate supporters of small businesses.

You will find Michelle and her team working behind the scenes managing emails, social media, newsletters and updating systems and processes. Michelle also loves a good celebration and relishes meeting the Small Business Britain community both at in person and online events to celebrate their successes throughout the year.

Press and Marketing Officer

Marina is a Press and Marketing Officer at Small Business Britain, working across its campaigns, supporting and spotlighting entrepreneurs across the UK and their ventures. She has spent her career so far in marketing and communications, in both corporate and non-profit environments, and has an academic background in creative writing.

Anna Matthews heads up Business for Good, managing Small Business Britain's sustainability work as well as leading on The Lilac Review.

Rachel Ringstead

Rachel Ringstead

 

Rachel heads up media and communications for Small Business Britain and its campaigns, raising awareness of the vital role of small businesses in the UK, profiling the key issues and championing fantastic small firms and entrepreneurs.

Rachel Ringstead has over 10 years' experience in corporate communications, working on behalf of purpose-driven businesses, entrepreneurs and not for profits.

Mat Slosiar

Mat Slosiar

 

Mat is part of Small Business Britain’s marketing & events team. Joining from a background in hospitality and customer service related roles, you can often see him at the events running around ensuring everything runs smoothly.

Mat heads up our iconic Small Business Saturday Tour and you can also find him on Instagram all dressed up in his sparkly jacket hosting 'Happy Hour'!

Emma Webb

Comms and Partnerships Manager

Emma works within the media and communications team, where she helps to celebrate and raise awareness of small businesses in the UK. Emma is also a key part of the partnerships team, where she helps to deliver Small Business Britain’s extensive digital programme of webinars.

Emma has a background in law and editorial and is passionate about helping small businesses thrive.

Gemma Winters

Gemma Johnson

 

Gemma works across a range of programmes and events for Small Business Britain. After many years working in high street retail management and also running her own small business Gemma loves to be able to bring those skills to her role within the team.

Current focuses are The Lilac Review, working on levelling up support for disabled entrepreneurs - led businesses, sustainability programmes and Netwalks.

You'll also find Gemma travelling the length and breadth of the UK with Mat each year on the run up to Small Business Saturday as part of The Tour team.
